英语说第五期  科技发展的利弊Do you agree or disagree that technological development is always good?你认为科技发展总是好得吗?

Horace : He disagreed, by which he listed the invention of the dynamite, a useful tool to dig canals, but also for killing people. He thought technology causes some irreversible problems such as pollution and erosion. Apart from that, He doubts that most problems couldn’t be solved by technology idly, especially the ones related to humans. He is also skeptical about the other problem technology brings: which is increasing the gap of wealth. He also used Guanborui’s example of phones, which in some ways brought apart the distance between people emotionally.

樊浩哲认为科技的发展不总是好事，他列举了炸药的发明，炸药是一种挖掘运河的有用工具，但也可以用来杀人他认为技术导致了一些不可逆转的问题，如污染和侵蚀他也认为大多数问题不可能由技术来解决，尤其是与人类有关的问题。

管博睿的结论是科技类似于一把“双刃剑”，并给出了智能手机的例子她说，智能手机不仅能让我们做很多事情，比如打电话、上网聊天、同时拍照、快速解决问题，但同时手机也会导致我们独立性的丧失，因为越来越多的人过度依赖手机。

Nanzixi Nanzixi also agreed that everything is double edged. She thought the importance also occurs in how we use it. The technology itself has two sides, so it’s down to people to make it a defective thing or a beneficial thing.  She gave the example of fire, an invention which both saved mankind with its warmth but also is a massive killing substance. She also commented that there will be improvements on technology by humans so in the end technology will get better and better.

MiaorunhanMiaorunhan said that everything has two sides, and so does technology. She took which most of us have read for example, in which the development of pesticides caused irreversible effects on the environment and on human beings as well. 

苗润涵说，凡事都有两面性，技术也一样她以我们大多数人都读过的《寂静的春天》为例，其中农药的发展对环境和人类造成了不可逆转的影响LisiyuLisiyu thought that in some conditions in our lives, technology is actually controlling us, just like the smartphone example, so we have to be aware of it. 。

All in all, , so we should view it with development and change. We can admit that it is not perfect nowadays, but we can’t deny that it will get closer and closer to perfection in the ensuing years.
