听清开头尤为重要2、 留心听新闻六大核心信息A. when(新闻时间发生的时间)B. where(发生的地点)C. who(涉及的人物)D. what(发生了什么时间)E. why(发生的原因)F. how(怎么发生的)

1.A.It is unreasonable. B.It is too costly for them.

C.It is illegal.D.It is harmful to workers.2.A.Philippines.B.Singapore.C.Indonesia.D.India.

1[2009.12/T21]•A) Thursday evening, from 7:00 to 9:45.•B) From September 1 to New Year’s eve.•C) Every Monday, lasting for 12 weeks.•D) Three hours a week, 45 hours in total•

M: Oh, I see. Well, when is it given? Ihope it’s not on Thursdays.•W: Well, there’s a class that meets on Mondayevenings at seven.•M: Just once a week?•W: Yes. But that’s almost three hoursfrom seven to nine forty-five.•M: Oh. Well, that’s alright. I couldmanage that. How many weeks does the•course last?•W: Mmmm, let me see. Twelve weeks. You start the first week in September,•and finish, oh, just before Christmas.December 21st.•Q: What do we learn about theschedule of the evening course?•

2[2008.6/T19]•A)A notice by the electricity board. B) Ads promoting electric appliances.•C)The desc

ription of a thief in disguise. D) A new policy on pensioners’welfare.•【录音】W:Gosh! Have you seen this, Richard?•M:Seen what?•W:In the paper. It says, there is a man going around pretending he’s from the electricityboard. He’s been calling at people’s homes, saying he’s come to check that all their appliances are safe. Then he getsaround them to make him a cup of tea, and while they are out of the room he stealstheir money, handbag, whatever and makes off with it.•Q:What does the woman want the man to read in the newspaper?••

3 [2009.12/T19]A) He prefers the smaller evening classes.B) He has signed up for a day course.

C) He has to work during the day. D) He finds the evening course cheaper.【录音】W: Do you want a day or evening course?

M: Well, it would have to be an evening course since I work during the day.Q: Why does the man choose to take an evening course?

4[2008.6/T25]•A)It will bring her potential into full play.•B)It will involve lots of train travel.•C)It will enable her to improve her Chinese.•D)It will give her more chances to visit Japan.••。

M:Really, I’m interested to hear more about that, but first tell me, have youever traveled on a luxury train, the Orient Express, for example?•W:No, I haven’t. But I’ve traveled on the Glacier Express to Switzerland and Itraveled across China by train about 8 years ago. I love train travel. That’s why I’mvery interested in this job.•Q:Why is the woman applying for the new job?

22. A. The size of the campuso     B. The city bus systemo    C. The length of time for each classo

D. The university bus system23. A. The entire campus    B. Part of the campuso      C. Thecampus and the city o

D. Onlythe off-campus areas24. A. nothing   B. Three dollarso     C. A few cents    D. Fifty cents25. A. Red   B. Green  C. Yellow   D. Blue

1】[2009.6/T32]•A)The atmosphere they live in is rather unreal.•B)Their parents put too much pressure on them.•C)It’s hard for them to get along with other kids.•D)They have to live in the shadow of their parents.••。

InHollywood, everybody wants to be rich, famous and beautiful. Nobody wants to beold, unknown and poor. For Hollywood kids, life can bedifficult, because they grow up in such an unreal atmosphere...•Q:Why is life said to be difficult for Hollywood kids?••

2】2009.12/T28]•A)Light is not an essential element to it.•B)Life can form in very hot temperatures.•C)Every form of life undergoes evolution.•D)Oxygen is not needed for some life forms.••

You may wonder if light is also needed for life to form. Until recently, scientists thought that light was essential. But now, placeshave been found on earth that are in total blackness, such as caves several miles beneath thesurface, andbacteria, primitive forms of life, have been seen there. So the lackof light inEuropa’s subsurface ocean doesn’t automatically rule out life forming.•Q:What have scientists come to know recently about the formation of life?••

短文听力中有时候会出现for example, for instance, firstly, secondly, thirdly, the first, the second, first, next, etc.

3】[2007.6/T34]•A)By offering to do volunteer work at the fair.•B)By bringing an animal rarely seen on nearby farms.•C)By bringing a bag of grain in exchange for a ticket.•D)By performing a special skill at the entrance.••

During the early 1930\s, officials of the fair ruled that the people couldattend by paying with something other than money. For example, farmers brought a bag of grain in exchange for a ticket...•Q:How did some farmers gain entrance to the fair in the early 1930\s?••

4. 并列/转折/因果关系及强调处常考o短文听力中有时会出现not only... but also, because, so, since, but, however, the only 等表示并列、转折、因果关系及强调的表达。

4】[2009.6/T34]•A)She wants Amanda to get professional care.•B)She has no experience in raising children.•C)She wants to show off her wealth.•D)She has no time to do it herself.••

Parentsbuy care and attention for their children because theyhave no time to give it themselves.Amanda’s mother employs a personal trainer, a bodyguard, a singing coach and acounselor to look after all her 15-year-old daughter’s needs.•Q:Why does Amanda’s mother employ other people to look after her needs?•

[2009.12/T35]•A)They will not bring real benefits to the staff.•B)They concern a small number of people only.•C)They are arbitrarily set by the administrators.•D)They are beyond the control of ordinary workers.••

Manypeople now talk about the importance of a company’s shared values or culture, with which all the staff can identify: for example, being the best hotel chain,or making the best, the most user-friendly or the most reliable products in aparticular field. Such values are morelikely tomotivate workers than financial targets, which ultimately onlyconcern a few people…•Q:Why does the speaker say financial targets are less likely to motivate workers?••

6】[2008.6/T30]•A)His advanced age. B) His children’s efforts.•C)His improved financial condition. D) His second wife’s positive influence.••。

Daddy never had very close relationships with his children and drifted evenfarther away from us after the divorce. Several years later, a wonderful womancame into his life and they were married. She had two sons, one of them stillat home. Under her influence, we became a blended family and a goodrelationship developed between the two families. She always treated us as if wewere her own children. It was becauseof our other mother, Daddy’s second wife, that he became closer to his own children...•Q:What brought the father closer to his own children?••
