When I was living in California, our city would get these periodic surges of Chinese tourists.I don’t know if it is a cultural difference but the Chinese tourists we got seemed really rude and pushy.

At the local zoo there were tonnnnnns of stories about them breaking rules, smoking in non-smoking areas, climbing past things to get close pictures of animals, arguing with officials trying to get cheaper prices (the cotton candy prices are fixed bro! You can’t bargain here!).

My frustration was fermented during a trip to NY where this spread-the-love guy was giving out free individual roses on a street corner, I was 100 feet away “Oh sweet, I’m gonna go get a flower for my girl!” I start walking towards his stand.

And then a crowd of 20 Chinese tourists saw the “free” sign and basically plowed into the guy, cleaning out all of his free flowers right as I was 2 feet away. Some of them were carrying multiple roses each!!
